Setup Instruction OpenVPN for Linux Ubuntu

Last update: january 2020

Advanced functionality and quick setup are available in the application.

Linux operating systems are very popular among PC users. Therefore, we implemented the work of our VPN on these operating systems.

To work with our VPN, we use the OpenVPN GUI program.

Before you begin to install and configurate the OpenVPN program, download the configuration files on your computer.

To do this, in your account, click the OVPN CONFIGS button and select the Linux operating system.

To install and configure the OpenVPN GUI program to work with our VPN, follow the screenshots below.

1. Let's install the OpenVPN GUI program on your PC. To do this, open the terminal and enter the command:

sudo apt-get install openvpn resolvconf

2. Next, download the configuration files for the Linux OS from our website. Go to the Downloads folder on your computer and unzip the downloaded archive with the configuration files using the command:

unzip config-linux.zip

3. Next, you need to copy the unpacked configuration files to the folder with the OpenVPN GUI program installed. To do this, using the command:sudo cp config*/* /etc/openvpn

4. Next, you can connect to any server using the command: sudo /etc/openvpn; openvpn --config Sweeden.ovpn

Using our "Checking your IP address" service you can check if your computer's IP has changed, and also find out the vulnerabilities of your host and recommendations for their elimination.
